Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and PyBlade (“we”, “us”) for using this website and the services on its subdomains: the feedback portal, PyBlade accounts, waitlists and anything else we run under this domain. By creating an account or using those services, you accept them. If you don't, please don't use them.

1. The software is not covered here

PyBlade itself — the template engine, the CLI and the editor extensions — is open source and published under the BSD license. What you may do with the code is set by that license alone. These terms cover the website and the services around it, not the software you install.

2. Your account

• You need an account to post, comment and vote. You can create one with an email address and a password, or by signing in with Google or GitHub.
• Give us an address that is yours and that you read: we use it to confirm the account and to reset your password.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
• You must be at least 16 years old to have an account.
• One account per person. Accounts are not to be shared, sold or transferred.

3. What you post

Posts, comments, attachments and votes you add to the feedback portal are public: anyone can read them, whether signed in or not.

• You keep ownership of what you write and upload.
• You give us permission to host it, show it, and use it to run and improve PyBlade. That includes changing a post's title, board, category or status so the portal stays readable, quoting it in release notes or documentation, and keeping it available for as long as the feedback portal exists. The permission is worldwide and free of charge.
• Only post what you may share. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to, and look twice at screenshots and logs before attaching them: remove passwords, API keys, tokens and other people's personal data.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use our services to:

• harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, including the PyBlade team;
• post spam, advertising, or anything illegal where you or we are;
• upload malware, or files meant to exploit whoever opens them;
• probe, scan or attack our systems, try to get into accounts that aren't yours, or get around limits we set. Attempts to sign in where you have no business signing in are recorded;
• collect data from the site in bulk, or load it heavily enough to slow it down for others.

5. Moderation

We may edit, move, merge, hide or delete posts and comments, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Where we can, we will tell you why. Votes decide what the roadmap puts first, but not what we build: that remains our decision.

6. Waitlists and emails

When you join a waitlist — for a release, early access, a conference or a workshop — we write to you about that event, and nothing else. We also send the emails an account needs: confirmation codes and password resets. We don't send newsletters you didn't ask for.

7. Paid services

Nothing on this site is paid for yet. If we offer paid services — PyBlade Cloud, for example — they will come with their own terms, which you will see before you pay for anything.

8. No guarantees

We run these services with care, but provide them “as is” and “as available”. PyBlade is pre-1.0 software and the services around it change often: we don't promise that they will be available without interruption, free of errors, or kept forever. Keep your own copy of anything you post that you cannot afford to lose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of these services, which are provided free of charge. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the services whenever you like. To delete your account, write to us from the address it uses.

• Deletion starts 7 days after your request. Until then your account keeps working, and you can cancel the deletion by telling us you've changed your mind.
• After those 7 days, your account is deleted together with your posts, comments and votes, and cannot be restored.

We may close an account that breaks these terms; sections 3, 8 and 9 continue to apply after that.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the services change. The date at the top of the page says when they last changed. If a change matters to how you use the site, we will say so on the site, or by email if you have an account, before it applies. Using the services after that means you accept the new terms.
